Language clarity and legal confidence
RENT Renholdstjenester is a large cleaning company in the Greater Oslo area, with around 600 employees represnting over 60 nationalities. The company is divided into three departments: daily cleaning for both public and private sectors, construction site cleaning, and technical/specialized cleaning.
Johan Løvlie leads the HR team of three and is part of the executive management group. He also chairs the working environment committee (AMU). His role covers the full spectrum of HR processes – both operational and strategic – and his workday is described as busy and varied.
Lawai is now integrated into multiple areas of his HR practice – from getting quick legal answers and drafting formal notices, to quality-checking complex procedures like terminations.
– Sometimes the answers are different from what I expected – and that’s a good thing. It improves the quality of our assessments.
With the ability to upload documents, he also uses Lawai to review contracts – especially after updates to the Norwegian Working Environment Act.
With a workforce that has varying levels of Norwegian language proficiency, communication around legal and employment-related matters is often challenging. This is where Lawai has proven to be a valuable tool.
– I use Lawai to write texts in simpler and more understandable Norwegian, which helps both me and the employees, Johan explains.
Confidence without the wait
The biggest benefit of using Lawai is the time it saves.
– Previously, I had to spend a lot of time finding the right answers. Now, I get support instantly. It gives me greater confidence in my decisions and makes me a better sparring partner for my colleagues. Productivity is up, and my stress levels are down.
RENT has already changed several HR processes as a result of using Lawai, and Johan expects the use of AI to increase as the team’s experience grows.
One specific change has been the shift from one-on-one informational meetings to microlearning:
